Meditations

As an intelligent woman– a beautiful being who reads, learns, and devours training courses with a voracious appetite– you probably know exactly what it’s like to ‘live in your head’. I know how this feels, too, as a serial Honors Student and as someone whose Strengthsfinder assessment yielded “Learner”, “Achiever”, and “Intellection” as three of my strongest skills. Heh.

Don’t get me wrong: Having the smarts and the mental wherewithal to figure things out and to move forward on your path, equipped with the knowledge you need, is a great thing.

But what if you can’t get out of your head?

What do you do when your body starts to feel exhausted and hollow, like a robot whose job it is to simply transport your brain around from book to book or course to course?

What do you do when your head actually starts to hurt and feel heavy and overwhelmed, stuffed to the brim with information, facts, stats, and pithy quotes?

How do you start bringing balance back into your life, getting out of your head and getting back in touch with the people and things that truly matter to you in the ‘real world’?

It starts with meditation.

It might sound counter-intuitive to get out of your head by going into it first, but I have experienced, first-hand, the benefits of using the power and strength of my mind to help unlock my body, my heart, and my very soul. One of the easiest ways to engage the mind in this holistic, grounding process is through guided visualizations.

I am happy to share this powerful meditation with you, to help you start pulling the energy that’s currently filling your head down to your root chakra, where it can invigorate and anchor your entire being, not simply your brain. Please feel free to download the audio file and to listen to it frequently. Enjoy!
